For nearly three weeks, in the trial of two Baltimore police officers indicted on corruption charges, a steady stream of witnesses, including other members of the elite Gun Trace Task Force who have pleaded guilty to similar charges, have detailed longstanding practices by many officers that involved robbery, drug dealing, and lying about overtime.The jury heard testimony from more than 32 witnesses, some of whom had been alleged victims of Officer Daniel Hersl and Officer Marcus Taylor. The testimony unfurled a dark canvas of banditry and abuse that has further solidified suspicion and mistrust in the police, long held by many people of color throughout the city.Award winning investigative reporter Jayne Miller of WBAL Television joins us on the phone.
